Reading

Up-Words Reading® is an early literacy instructional program like no other.   It is designed to teach students to read and spell English by integrating carefully followed, research-based best practices in literacy education using the proven methodology of the Orton-Gillingham approach, while incorporating time-tested instructional techniques proven to enhance the learning experience.  The program, developed by Lorie Delk, M Ed., CCC-SLP, Laura Scheer, M. Ed. and Jessica Kersting Ph. D., CCC-SLP, is the product of years of experience in both reading instruction and speech-language therapy.

The complete, self-contained Up-Words Reading® learning package is versatile enough for classroom use or one-on-one instruction, by either professionals or parents.  Each lesson integrates phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, sight words and reading comprehension, giving students everything they need to start down the road to reading . . . and loving it.

To top it off, Up-Words Reading® features the most entertaining series of phonics-based readers available today.  The readers introduce students to entertaining characters and wholesome virtues using consistent narratives that last throughout the school year.  The readers are completely integrated with the lesson plans and offer 100% vocabulary integrity — students are never asked to read a word they have not previously been taught to decode or identify.

Level 0 of the Up-Words Reading® program, with a set of 51 readers, Level 1, with a set of 53 readers, and Level 2, with a set of 30 chapter book readers, and Level 3, with a set of 8 chapter books are all available now.
